about me
At first I would like to thank you for visiting my website.
I am interested in science fiction and in the cosmos since I was a child. Other interests like under water photography, wind surfing, sailing, fishing and Old-timers came around during the years.
Now, with very limited time I try to step forward in astrophotography since 2010. Enticed by fantastic astronomy pictures that freaks published in the internet I bought an 8” Meade LX90 and replaced it by a 10” Meade LX200. I learned it´s big, it´s heavy and it´s not really mobile. I should have started at lower size. Currently I do astrophotography with different equipment, but mostly with small telescopes or lenses.
My profession is in the field of physics, especially in micro and nanostructured optics. My colleagues and me were able to contribute to instrumentation in astronomy (e.g. GAIA mission of ESA) and to gravitational wave astronomy too. Hence, my profession and my hobby are close together for me.
To my pleasure, my wife Claudia is interested in photography too. So I also added here a selection of pictures she made. We both are learning and would be happy about comment or questions by visitors of this website.
